Product FAQ

▪︎ Why choose nido.nido?

What makes nido.nido play mats different from others?

nido.nido play mats not only hold exclusive aesthetic design patents, but also set the industry benchmark for safety standards.

It is the only MIT (Made in Taiwan) play mat brand that meets the standards for simultaneous sale in the EU, and has been awarded “Five-Star Safety—Ranked No. 1” by the Hong Kong Consumer Council.

▪︎ Where is nido.nido made?

100% researched, designed, and manufactured in Taiwan.

▪︎ What material is the nido.nido play mat made of?

nido.nido uses premium eco-friendly EVA material and firmly refuses to use PVC, a material commonly adopted by many other brands.

During the softening process, PVC requires plasticizers—a well-known industry fact. Although some PVC mats may pass national safety tests, they cannot achieve true “zero detection.”

At nido.nido, we believe only zero detection equals real safety for your little ones.

▪︎ Why is nido.nido’s 1.3cm thickness just right?

A baby’s play mat should balance safety and comfort. When choosing a mat, focus on moderate thickness, excellent resilience, and high density, rather than simply pursuing extra thickness.

In fact, mats made with inferior materials often compensate with extra thickness to appear more protective.

With over 40 years of experience serving families worldwide, nido.nido has found that:

  • Overly thick mats can create a height difference between the mat and the floor, increasing the risk of tripping when babies learn to walk.

  • Mats that are too soft lack proper support and may cause ankle twists—just like sports surfaces are never overly soft to prevent injuries.

nido.nido play mats are made from safe, high-quality materials, achieving “zero formamide detection” while offering excellent elasticity and firmness.

The 1.3cm design thickness perfectly supports babies through all growth stages—from rolling and crawling to walking—providing comfort and safety throughout their development.

Additional benefits of the 1.3cm thickness:

  • Lightweight and easy to store: Convenient to move and carry, without taking up space.

  • Visually clean and spacious: Maintains a bright, open look in your home without feeling bulky or crowded.

Thoughtfully designed, nido.nido is more than just a play mat—it’s a trusted companion in your baby’s growth journey.

▪︎ Why does the play mat have a slight smell when first opened?

The scent comes from the natural raw materials, similar to the scent of genuine leather. It may be noticeable at first but will naturally dissipate over time.

To speed up the process, you can wipe the mat with a damp cloth or wash it with mild detergent, then air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight.

▪︎ Why does the mat surface look shiny or feel slightly slippery at first?

During production, nido.nido uses natural coconut oil as a release agent. This may cause the mat surface to appear slightly glossy or slippery when first unboxed.

We recommend wiping it with a damp cloth or cleaning gently with mild detergent, then air drying in a shaded, ventilated area before use.

▪︎ Other Notes

nido.nido play mats are produced using EVA free-foam molding technology, which may result in minor pores, color variations, seams, height differences, or slight pattern deviations. These are normal characteristics of EVA products, not defects.

Please ensure you are comfortable with these before placing an order. Returns or exchanges will not be accepted for the reasons stated above.

Product colors may also vary slightly depending on your monitor display settings; actual colors shall prevail.

▪︎ How to clean and maintain your nido.nido play mat?

  1. Daily care:
Use a vacuum cleaner, robotic vacuum, or lint roller for simple cleaning.

  2. For general dirt:
Wipe with a damp cloth or remove the affected piece for washing.
Let it air dry completely in a shaded area before reuse.
Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight.

  3. For oil stains:
Wash with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and air dry in the shade.
Avoid using harsh or corrosive cleaners, as they may damage the material.
